The Frankfurt office of the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (hereinafter “aT”) held the “Next K-Food Product Presentation and Consumer Tasting Event” on Friday, September 18, at the Korean Cultural Center in Austria, targeting European food distribution professionals and local consumers.

This event was organized in collaboration with the Korean Cultural Center in Austria as well as with Youngsan Group and was designed to directly assess the market potential of “Next K-Food”—promising export items—in Europe, identify new business partners, and explore future opportunities for entering the European market based on feedback from local consumers.

The event was divided into a B2B session for food importers and distributors and a B2C session for local consumers. A variety of Korean export products were introduced, including Korean sauces for easy-to-prepare dishes such as bibimbap and japchae, red ginseng coffee, dakgangjeong (spicy fried chicken), chicken corn dogs, and traditional Korean liquor.

During the B2B session, products from Korean food companies were introduced to purchasing representatives from local food importers and major retailers, providing them with an opportunity to experience the products’ competitiveness firsthand through tastings. In particular, feedback was gathered from potential distribution channel representatives regarding the taste, packaging, ingredients, price, and marketability of new products, securing on-site insights that can be utilized in formulating future strategies for entering the European market.

In the B2C session, product tasting and experience programs were conducted for local consumers. Participants experienced a variety of “Next K-Food” products and responded positively to their taste and quality, demonstrating high interest in Korean food by making inquiries about where to purchase them at local stores.

Lim Hee-young, Director of the aT Frankfurt office, stated, “Through this event, we were able to directly introduce Korean food to local distribution partners and consumers and gauge their actual reactions and opinions in the market.” She added, “We plan to actively utilize the feedback gathered on-site from distribution partners and consumers to expand into the European market and strengthen our products’ competitiveness.”
